Terms of service

AltNerva Tasks is provided by 北京寰衍科技有限公司. It provides Windows desktop task cards, card groups, character and card DIY, a timeline, local storage, optional account sign-in, optional cloud sync, online updates and related supporting capabilities. Some features may be in testing, invitation-only or part of Founder benefits. These terms apply only to Tasks, not to input methods or other products that may be offered separately in the future.

Before first using the client, you must read and agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, the client will not enter its main functionality and you may exit the app. Before consent, we do not open the local task database, request cloud sync, retrieve product metrics or enable optional data capabilities.

You must register using truthful, lawful and contactable information and safeguard your login credentials. You are responsible for losses caused by voluntarily disclosing your account, sharing devices or using unofficial installation packages. We will provide reasonable account recovery, closure and security-protection measures.

In local-only mode, task data is stored in an encrypted database on the current device. Accounts and optional cloud sync may use global cloud infrastructure, and related information may be processed outside your country or region. Before enabling them, we will show applicable notices based on the region you actively select or confirm, and obtain consent or use another lawful basis where required. We will not silently determine or change your region solely from your IP address; changing your region will not automatically migrate existing accounts or cloud data. Card titles, body text and other synchronized content are encrypted on the device with AES-256-GCM before upload, and the cloud stores ciphertext. Metadata such as account, device, operation, version, time, IP address and necessary security logs is still processed directly for online services. You should assess your own backup needs for important data. Before uninstalling, reinstalling, clearing the local database or switching devices, confirm whether sync or export is complete.

Turning off sync stops new synchronization only. It does not automatically withdraw other consents, export data, delete existing cloud data or close an account. Withdrawing applicable cross-border or overseas processing consent, exporting, deleting and closing an account each have different effects. See Account closure and data rights.

The Windows version provides installation and updates through official EXE and App Installer update sources. Download and install only from the official website or update sources. Do not install modified, cracked or mirrored packages from unknown sources. We may publish updates for security fixes, compatibility, compliance or functionality upgrades.

You retain lawful rights to the tasks, cards, text, settings and imported content you enter. You agree not to use the service to store, generate or distribute content that is unlawful, infringing, malicious code, fraudulent, harassing, harmful to cybersecurity or infringing on others’ lawful rights and interests.

The current Tasks internal test build does not provide a publicly available AI feature that processes card body text. If AI assistance such as task organization, summaries, completion, recommendations or intelligent suggestions is enabled in the future, we will separately explain its processing scope and provide independent controls. Such output is for reference only. High-risk uses involving medical, legal, financial or research conclusions should be reviewed by qualified professionals.

• Reverse engineering, cracking, bypassing permissions, or damaging update or signature mechanisms.
• Abusing APIs, registering accounts in bulk, attacking servers, or bypassing rate limits or security mechanisms.
• Uploading or distributing unlawful, infringing, malicious, fraudulent, harassing content or content that endangers public safety.
• Impersonating others or using someone else’s account, phone number, email address or invitation code.

We may adjust the service for security, compliance, operational, technical or product-planning reasons. If you seriously violate these terms or applicable laws and regulations, we may restrict, suspend or terminate the relevant service and retain necessary records as required by law.

To the extent permitted by law, we do not assume liability beyond statutory requirements for losses caused by force majeure, third-party service interruptions, user errors, unofficial installation packages, device failures, network issues, failure to update in time or violations of these terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China. Disputes should first be resolved through friendly consultation. If no agreement is reached, the dispute shall be handled by a people’s court with jurisdiction at the location of 北京寰衍科技有限公司. Any mandatory provisions of the laws of the user’s location that cannot be excluded shall prevail.
